midishoes
I build an onscreen midikeyboard:
And a little drummachine:
Both are powered by Shoes and Midiator. If you want to try it, just download Shoes and open one of the files (click on the image get to it).
Dabbling on the drummachine, i realized, that Shoes does not really seem to be made for animations. Just moving the yellow box across the screen pushes CPU usage to about 11% (MBP Core2Duo..), which is quite a lot, isn’t it? Maybe its Ruby or maybe it’s just Shoes.
So what to do next? Trying someting else to do cool animated GUI stuff? Ruby based would be nice, because of Arx and such. Tried gosu, but the example did not work on my machine.. looking around…
